Co-op Bank Unveils Luxury Lounge and Youth Banking

Co-operative Bank of Kenya has unveiled its state-of-the-art Executive Plus Lounge at Westlands Square, a new milestone in delivering personalized banking experiences.

Designed for high-net-worth individuals and executive clients, the lounge offers bespoke services such as wealth planning, strategic financial support, and a fully equipped boardroom for business meetings.

During the bank’s recent Executive Banking Captains Club Networking Forum, Lena Yego, Head of Retail Banking, emphasized the evolution of their executive banking offerings: “Our journey has transitioned from basic transactional services to a comprehensive, relationship-driven experience. We’ve listened to our clients and responded by creating a platform that offers deeper value beyond traditional banking.”

In addition to the lounge launch, the bank has introduced a specialized youth banking program to nurture emerging business leaders and professionals. This initiative targets young entrepreneurs and professionals making strides in their industries, providing mentorship, networking opportunities, and access to exclusive benefits to support their financial growth and leadership development.

Mrs. Yego highlighted the significance of youth inclusion: “Young people are essential to our economic progress. Our new youth banking proposition offers them the chance to connect with seasoned mentors and capitalize on the bank’s wealth management resources, energizing their journey to financial success.”

Kenya’s affluent market is expanding rapidly, with the 2024 Africa Wealth Report counting over 7,200 high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), 30,000 mortgage loans, and 372,000 monthly earners above KES 100,000. Market insights project the Assets Under Management (AUM) to reach US8.26billion (KES1.06trillion) in 2025, rising further to an estimated US8.79 billion (KES 1.13 trillion) by 2029—marking a clear shift towards sophisticated wealth management solutions.

Executive banking clients will enjoy exclusive perks, including automatic membership to the Captains Club Network, access to high-level business networking events, unsecured personal loans up to KES 10 million, integrated wealth advisory services, Visa Platinum cards with travel and lifestyle benefits, and complimentary family banking services.

Furthermore, the bank plans to extend the Executive Plus Lounge concept to 10 additional branches nationwide, including locations in Nyali, Eldoret (Rupa Mall), Nakuru, Kisumu, Gigiri, and Karen, reinforcing its commitment to delivering premium financial services across Kenya.
