AAR Insurance Unveils Smart Branch ‘AAR on the Go’ in Nairobi CBD

AAR Insurance has today unveiled a new smart branch, ‘AAR on the Go’, located at ABSA Towers in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD).

This marks a significant step in its nationwide expansion and digital transformation agenda bringing the insurer’s total branch count to 11 across the country.

Billed as a paperless, tech-driven outlet, the new branch is tailored for today’s fast-paced, mobile-first economy—targeting urban customers and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with convenient, real-time insurance services. The initiative aligns with the company’s broader goal of enhancing service delivery while driving environmental sustainability through reduced paper usage and faster in-branch processes.

“This is about giving our customers and partners more control, making insurance services more accessible, responsive, and centered around their needs,” said Justine Kosgei, CEO and Principal Officer at AAR Insurance. “With ‘AAR on the Go’, we’re not only delivering value and efficiency, we are safeguarding the health and wellbeing of our customers in line with our mission.”

Customers visiting the branch can expect a fully digital experience—from QR-code-based onboarding and instant access to product information, to seamless engagement without the need for physical forms.

The model is designed to cut down waiting times, improve service delivery, and minimize environmental impact, reinforcing the insurer’s commitment to sustainable business practices.

The launch comes at a time when the insurance sector is undergoing rapid digital transformation. A recent McKinsey report indicates that over 60% of insurance enquiries now originate from digital platforms, underlining a shift in customer expectations for faster, more flexible interactions. AAR’s new outlet responds to this demand, offering walk-in digital convenience in a highly accessible location.

Esther Koimett, Chairperson of AAR Insurance Kenya, noted the broader implications of the launch: “This goes beyond the digital infrastructure. It’s a deliberate move to bring insurance closer to the people and to make it relevant, intuitive, and accessible. ‘AAR on the Go’ is a bold stride toward inclusive, future-ready insurance delivery.”

Located strategically in Nairobi’s CBD, the branch is set to enhance accessibility for both customers and agents, providing a central touchpoint for those seeking flexible insurance solutions on the go.

The launch also follows AAR Insurance’s strong performance at the 2025 Think Business Insurance Awards, where the company received accolades in multiple categories:

  • 1st Runners-Up – General Insurance Company of the Year
  • 1st Runners-Up – Claims Settlement (General Insurance)
  • 2nd Runners-Up – Medical Underwriter of the Year – Personal
  • 1st Runners-Up – Group Medical Business
  • 1st Runners-Up – Most Customer-Centric Underwriter

With ‘AAR on the Go’, the company cements its position as an innovator in Kenya’s insurance landscape—offering smarter, more sustainable, and more customer-friendly services as part of its ongoing evolution.
